Pakistani and Indian Designers to showcase Indo-Pak cultural collaborative platform ‘Shaan-e-Pakistan’

Pakistani and Indian Designers to showcase side by side at the Indo-Pak cultural collaborative platform ‘Shaan-e-Pakistan’!
Shaan-e-Pakistanis an initiative of designer Huma Nassrand is envisioned as a platform for Indian and Pakistani fashion talent to showcase their craft on a unified stage as a means to create further awareness of the fashion prowess of the Subcontinent and to strengthen the bond between the two countries.The three day indo-Pak cultural collaboration ‘Shaan-e-Pakistan’, is set to host Pakistani Designers/Brand and Indian Designers ensembles ranging from bridals, prêt, luxe- prêt to high-street and lawnin India.Detailed Event and Exhibition information pertaining to Shaan-e-Pakistan were shared during a press conference held for the platform at Pearl Continental Karachi.


The press conference was well-attended by esteemed members of the press, members of the fashion fraternity and media personalities includingNadia Hussain, Amjad Sabri, Akhtar Chanal, Jimmy Engineer,Chef Zakir and Chef Gulzar among others. During the press conference, acclaimed director Mahesh Bhatt and renowned actor Javed Sheikh showed their support for the platform through specially recorded video messages played on occasion.

 Another creative video segment demonstrated how the general public on both sides of the border truly felt about their neighboursand how they believed in cultural and social harmony between the two nations. Acclaimed musician AmjadSabrialso shared a few words about the cultural similarities of Pakistan &India and how beneficial it could be for both countries to set aside their differences and work together to promote trade, art and culture together on a unified platform such as Shaan-e-Pakistan. The event concluded with HumaNassr, founder of Shaan-e-Pakistan, elaborating upon her vision for the platform and expounding on the structure and content of the 3 day event.

Pakistani designersparticipating at the platform include Ali Xeeshan, Asifa and Nabeel, Braahtii By Huma Nassr, House of Arsalan Iqbal, House of Umar Sayeed, HSY, Mona Imran, Nadia Hussain, RanaNoman, Rema Qureshi, Rungrez, Sahar Atif, Saira Shakira, ZainabChottani. From the other side of the border,Indian designersAnjuModi,Arshi Jamal, CharuParasher, RaakeshAgarwal,LeenaTaneja&, PoonamBhagat will be taking part in Shaan-e-Pakistan.The platform's complete designer lineup will be announced on 18th August 2015 at the Indian Shaan-e-Pakistan Press conference in New Delhi.

Scheduled to be held from 10th September to 12th September 2015 Shaan-e-Pakistan will also feature an Exhibition that will showcase the handcraft and culture of the Subcontinent’s most renowned artisans.

The three day Fashion and Lifestyle event will commenceon Thursday 10th September 2015 with a gala night ‘EkShaam Pakistan keNaam’ where qawali legend Amjad Sabri, candidly known as one of the Roving Ambassadors for Pakistan,will take to the stage and enthrall audiences with his soulful baritone voicein a fusion of Indo-Pak culturalsangeet. The event will also entail food and flavours of India and Pakistan where celebrated Chef Gulzar Hussainfrom Pakistan and Osama Jalali from India will take guests’palate through a Sub-continental cultural journey.

In continuation of their spirit of promoting brand accessibility, Shaan-e-Pakistan Day two will consist of dedicated stall spaces for participants to showcase their work. The exhibition itself is set to enhance brands’ accessibility through B2B interaction, business networking and through direct &personal interaction with guests at the exhibition area.

No fashion & lifestyle event is complete without a ramp showcase which will take place on Day 3 of Shaan-e-Pakistan, with select Pakistani and Indian designersexhibiting 12 outfits each. Attendees can expect high quality fashion inbridal wear,prêt, luxe-prêt, high-street and lawn.

SHAAN-E-PAKISTAN is currently being supported by Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi and Federation of Indian Export Organisations [FIEO] along with Co-hosts Sangeeta Das from Equations India. The official OST for Dekh Magar Pyaar Say hits across Pakistan!

Following up on the exclusive release of Dekh Magar Pyaar Say [#DMPS] Music video promos - Kala Doriya, Tasveer (Talal Qureshi Mix) and Kabhi Kabhion its official portals, the official OST of Dekh Magar Pyaar Say [#DMPS] was released on Tuesday 4th August 2015.

The introduction of the DMPS official OST was facilitated through an intimate media meet & greet at Imperial Cinema, Cinepax Fortress Square, Super Cinema Vogue Towers and Cinestar Township Lahore where the principal cast of Dekh Magar Pyaar Say [#DMPS] along withand artist SOCH the band and Asrar met with DMPS enthusiast and disseminated the official soundtrack; with award-winning actress and Pakistani silver screen luminary #HumaimaMalick and debutant actor #SikanderRizvi, grandson of the legendary Madam Noor Jehan and the brother of Pakistani actress Sonya Jehan in attendance, Both artistes spoke at length about their involvement in the project and unveiled the official OST through a LIVE performance by SOCH to esteemed members of the press and guests on the occasion. The meet was well attended and included appearances by celebrities such as singer Ali Zafar.






With leading filmmaker Asad-ul-Haq and Producer Ali Murtaza behind the artistic vision of the motion picture set to release on the festive 14th August 2015, the modern romantic comedy has roped in the iconic Saima Rashid Bargfrede as the motion picture’s Official Styling Partner along with Pakistan’s leading design house, HSY and fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin as the Creative and Fashion Design Director for #DMPS, a collaborative association which is unique to Pakistani cinema. The script for #DMPS has been penned by writer and journalist Saba Imtiaz, who recently released her debut novel, ‘Karachi, You’re Killing Me!’ with BAFTA winning Director of Photography, Nicholas D. Knowland [aka Nic Knowland] of Jinnah fame as the official DoP of the project.
